Frequently Asked Questions
How does Hypnotherapy work?
All hypnosis is self-hypnosis.
We rely on our conscious minds to be the gate-keepers of all new knowledge - this process ensures that our minds are not overloaded with information, and that insignificant information does not reach the subconscious (or long term memory bank). Hypnotherapy utilises this process to allow positive thoughts, beliefs and emotions to replace old habits.
Will I remember everything you say?
Yes indeed. However, during a session you may choose to focus on your heightened state of wellbeing and rejuvenation, in which case the details of the words may not be so important at a conscious level.
What if I’m not sure I can be hypnotised?
Hypnosis is an innate state of being. Everyone can be hypnotised at some level.
Can I use my Private Health Insurance?
Yes. Many Health providers offer rebates on clinical hypnotherapy. Please call us if you would like further information.
What is EFT?
Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) Tapping opens up blocked meridian channels and mindfulness beliefs create the capacity to sit in the discomfort of the 'change process'.
What is the difference between Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy refers to the practice of hypnosis combined with the application of modern psychotherapies. Your Natural State Hypnosis consultation incorporates the medical knowledge of an experienced Registered Nurse, mindfulness techniques and EFT to provide a holistic service to our clients.
can hypnosis provide an instant cure?
Hypnotherapy is the process of creating change at a conscious and subconscious level and our conscious mind has a firm protective hold on our life long habits. By creating change at a subconscious level we're providing an opportunity for our conscious mind to learn the new behaviour and embrace it.
